Have Allergies?
Many people love cats but are allergic. But did you know that people with allergies are not allergic to fur, they are allergic to fel d 1, which is released in saliva and urine, and when you pet a cat after it has licked its fur or if it rubs against something, the protein is released into the air and athsmatics and people with allergies react badly. For this reason, it is not always the shorthaired cats that are good for people with allergies. The siberian produces less Fel D1 than most cats, even though it is long haired. Also, female cats or light colored cats, especially kittens, produce less Fel D1 than other cats. So, if you get a light colored female kitten of one of these breeds you have a good chance with these cats.
