Collars
Usually when you think of collars you think of a dog, because they wear collars more than cats. But you see more cats going outside without people all the time, even if they are pets. That just makes it more important to get one, although most people don't. So, (especially if your cat is an outside cat), get a collar, so that your pet can be returned to you!!
To be sure the collar fits, use two fingers and slip them inbetween your pet's neck and collar. If your fingers dont fit, it is too tight. If your whole hand fits, it is too lose. Two or three fingers should be fine.

Feedingcat food
Feed your cat a good amount of a healthy brand of cat food. Not all "real" brands are healthy; not the expensive ones either. Check the ingredients, and make sure it is healthy! I reccomend filling the bowl about 3/4 full.

Vetcat at the vetrinarians
Your cat needs a regular checkup, and I reccomend getting him/her fixed. Fixed indoor cats live longer, but fixing your cat is irreversable! Also, if your cat is injured or sick, TAKE IT TO THE VET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excersise
Cats need lots of excersise. I reccomend at least 2 toys and a scratching post. Some scratching posts have toys attatched to them, so you can buy those too. Cats do not need to go on walks like dogs do, so that saves you time, giving the cat another reason to be the # 1 pet! But all cat breeds have different energy levels, so chose wisely!
Grooming
Most of the time cats can wash themselves, and scratching posts help with nail care. A brush or a bath here and there doesent hurt, though. But for the breeds with longer fur or that shed alot you need to brush more often, because their toungs are too small to get at all the tangles. Some cats enjoy it, some don't. It all depends on the breed!
